There exists different class of Police officers but not all possess credibility and humanity.
At a time many Nigerians are complaining of economic hardships, an heartless Police officer name withheld who hails from a town called Kaiama in Kwara North Senatorial District and presently occupies the position of a Divisional Police Officer In charge of A’ Division Warri Delta state.
The trauma of his divorced wife began in Kaiama after the DPO romanced a Calabar side chick, and permanently relocated his Islamically married Wife to his state capital Ilorin Kwara state.
For more than two years, he neither sent their upkeep nor saw them. This did not go down well with the wife who decided to take report to one of the DPO’s superior officer, who initially intervened.
Things however took another dimension when the DPO went gagga with his new Calabar chick by even engaging in open celebrity Police videos of romance and photographs. Islamically, It is wrong for a married man to engage in such which the divorced wife who as at that time was in his marital territory.To cut the whole story short,the DPO has finally divorced the wife and gave her ultimatum to pack out of his house, submit car keys and leave his children with his family.
This piece emanated as a result of humanity and respect for gender.
“We want the inspector general of Police to intervene so as to let the erring police officer know that no law gives him the right to harass,threaten and humiliate a woman. After giving birth to five children both male and female for him, where on earth does he expect her to take the children to?”
As a well trained Police officer whose rules of engagement stipulate respect,protection and civil mindedness how come he is behaving irrationally? If it were to be the Armed forces,he would have been sanctioned by now.
For a chief superintendent of Police to be behaving like this calls for concern from the Police high authorities.
The Kwara state Police commissioner had to intervene in the protection of the estranged wife when the DPO threaded the wife. Someone trained to protect the general public not being able to father a family calls for concern.
The Police provost unit, force secretary office as well as the police service commission must act so as to call the disrespectful SPA incharge of A’ Division Warri Delta to order. The most shameful aspect of this matter is his inability to accord respect and dignity to a woman who gave birth to five children for him with the eldest in two hundred level inthe University.
The Police high authority must intervene to bring their erring officer to accept and take up his responsibilities.
