Bayo Onanuga alleged that the supporters of Obi have been disseminating fake news to the general public, damaging the reputation of the APC candidate.
The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate to take leadership of his supporters by calling them to order on spreading fake news against him.
Goldennewsng reports that the former governor of Lagos State stated this in reaction to the statement credited to the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, which the Ghanaian president denied.
In a letter credited to have emanated from President Nana Akufo-Addo, asking Tinubu to step down for Peter Obi following his health challenges.
The Ghana president while responding to the purported letter from him stated that he has no interest in the country’s general election come 2023.
Speaking on behalf of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Director of Media and Communications of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation(TCO), Bayo Onanuga alleged that the supporters of Obi have been disseminating fake news to the general public, damaging the reputation of the APC candidate.
“We have come to a point where it becomes imperative to tell Obi to show leadership and disavow his supporters who are employing fake news and disinformation as deliberate tools to deceive and poison the minds of unsuspecting Nigerians,” Onanuga stated.
Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate, a former governor of Anambra state has been the candidate of the majority of Nigerian youths and celebrities since his declaration of interest to run for the presidential position come 2023 general election.
Most of the youths see the Labour Party candidate as the solution to myriads of problems confronting the West African country.
