Mark Weston woke up early, nerves and excitement coursing through him. Today was his first day as a police officer, a dream he had nurtured for years. “Morning, Weston,” Lucas greeted him with a firm handshake. “Ready for your first day on the beat?”
“Yes, sir,” Mark replied, trying to hide his nervousness. “I’m eager to learn from you.”
