MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is back behind bars after being released from custody and then shooting into a crowd, hitting a 12-year-old boy, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
FOX13 first told you about this story on Wednesday, May 11, after a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Faxon Ave.
Police said that boy was shot after 35-year-old Latroya Lemons fired into a crowd of people. According to court records, Lemons was released from custody just a day before that shooting, having been arrested for harassment earlier that same week.
A warrant was soon put out for Lemons’ arrest in connection to the shooting.
On Thursday, May 17, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office told FOX13 that Lemons had been picked up on that warrant.
She now faces six counts of aggravated assault, six counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and four counts of violating bail conditions.
Her bond has been set at $500,000.
