White police officer humiliates young black woman, but doesn’t know she’s his new boss. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows over the quiet streets of Marlo Heights, a well-to-do suburb just outside of Washington, D.C. Officer Luke Bennett cruised down the tree-lined streets in his patrol car, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the steering wheel.
Luke had been on the force for nearly two decades, and in that time, he’d seen the city change in ways he didn’t always like. He’d started out an eager recruit, proud to wear the badge and serve the public, but over the years, the shine had worn off.
