Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had revealed on Tuesday that the Federal Government agreed to pay 8 months’ salary arrears.
However a Nigerian lecturer on hearing the news caused a stir at a bank when he showed up with a Ghana Must Go bag following reports that FG paid their outstanding salaries.
Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had revealed on Tuesday that the Federal Government agreed to pay 8 months’ salary arrears.
However a Nigerian lecturer on hearing the news caused a stir at a bank when he showed up with a Ghana Must Go bag following reports that FG paid their outstanding salaries.
It announced; “Universities to reopen 17th October 2022 as Federal Govt agrees to pay the outstanding 8 months’ salaries.
“Revitalisation and salary arrears have been cleared. Although the issue of UTAS is not finalized, for now, ASUU members have agreed to resume October 17th.”
Just a day after the news broke, a man who lectures at an undisclosed university stormed his bank with a big bag to withdraw the entire 8 months backlog of salaries.
