A fitness-obsessed model from New York has urged women not to date ‘lazy’ men and to dump their boyfriends if they don’t hit the gym five times a week.
Puerto Rico-born, Buffalo-raised Santana Rodriguez explained that couch potatoes are a big no-no when it comes to her dating life, insisting: “Relationships with lazy people should be discarded.”
Rodriguez’s trim physique and super-healthy diet have amassed her almost 200,000 followers on Instagram, and her chiselled snaps will make your abdominal muscles ache just looking at them.
Rodriguez – who has graced the covers of Maxim, Harper’s Bazaar, FHM – works out at least five-six times a week and potential suitors must be able to match her gym visits.
Rodriguez, who is also a reality TV star and presenter, explained: “If a man doesn’t hit the gym, it absolutely will not work out between us.
“I’ve had this experience [of dating a man who wasn’t into fitness] and it was like I was drowning along with him because my energy was depleted.”
If the word gym sends chills down your spine, don’t count yourself out just yet, because Rodriguez is also up for some outdoor exercise from time to time. Fun!
“I don’t always train in the gym, I prefer the outdoors,” she added. “I get bored with workouts so I constantly have to update and change my workout regime.”
Rodriguez added: “I don’t like being bothered when I go to the gym. I want to be in and out of there within a certain time period. I lead a busy schedule so managing my time is critical.”

What’s more, an all-encompassing desire to work up a sweat isn’t Rodriguez’s only condition when it comes to dating.
She added: “I date men who are confident, respectful, give me my space and are compassionate.
“They should love dining out and be both emotionally and intellectually intelligent (which is hard to find) and strive to be the best version of themselves.”
But wait, there’s more! Rodriguez continued: “I like a guy who makes it a point to incorporate training and good eating habits into his life.”
One thing Rodriguez isn’t so fussed about? Age. Younger, older, the influencer said she doesn’t care, as long as they can ‘make her laugh’.
Touching upon the sort of grub any future boyfriend can expect to chow down on during dates, Rodriguez listed ‘fish, chicken, vegetables and popcorn with hummus’ as her favourite food.
She said: “I like to have a protein shake in the morning, a higher-based content of carbs in my meal for lunch.
“For example, pasta with a protein like chicken in it or a salad with chicken or tuna and for dinner a higher-protein meal consisting of fish or chicken with vegetables. My go-to snack is salt-less popcorn with hummus.”
