Popular afrobeat artiste, Femi Kuti, has shot a salvo into what appears to be the camp Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s followers.
He says he is not obedient because those who are are zombies.
Obi’s followers are called Obi-dients.
Yabbing during his Thursday show in Lagos, Femi said: “You know what obedience means? Stand up, sit down, sit there — zombie,” Mr Kuti said during a performance at the Shrine Thursday night in Lagos, wondering why Mr Obi’s popularity has grown rapidly in recent months.
“How can you be Obidient in this chaos? I am not Obidient. Tell me, at 60, why am I Obidient? You said I should be Obidient, sit down, be peaceful,” he said. “Are you all okay in this country?”
There have been complaints that many followers of Oi do not reason soundly, with some saying day are dogmats.
Their opponents in other camps, as well as other stakeholders, have also argued that they are not tolerant of others’ views.
The Obi-dients too are however also quick that the opponents in a camp like that of the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Tinubu are also aggressive.
