A man was on Thursday arrested by police in Gombe State for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter on a grave.
Ruben Azaria was said to have committed the act in their compound in Kaltungo council of the state.
Police spokesman Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar said Azaria was apprehended after a neighbour reported the alleged incident.
In another development, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) also said that it received a complaint of child defilement allegedly perpetrated by a medical doctor.
Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, the executive secretary of the agency, said on the agency’s Twitter handle yesterday that the complaint was received on March 19 through its toll-free line.
“We received a complaint bordering on an allegation of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child and defilement allegedly perpetrated by a ( medical doctor).
“As is customary, the case was immediately referred to the Gender Desk Department of the Police Command in Lagos State.
“The child had already received medical support and was in the process of receiving psychosocial support,” Mrs Vivour-Adeniyi said.
