The British royal family has been the talk of the town for decades. There has never been a dull moment with the members of this family. Recently, the main focus has been the tension between Harry and Meghan and their choice to remove themselves from the life of royalty.
With their departure as senior royals, Harry and Meghan haven’t been joining the royal family for any festivities because their leaving has caused some major backlash. Entertainment Tonight met with Katie Nicholl, the author of The New Royals, and talked with her about the royal family’s holiday plans.
Katie explains that Christmas is a very special time for the royal family, and they all traditionally come together at Sandringham. With the recent passing of the queen, it has been said that King Charles III is going to follow in his mother’s footsteps and keep the tradition alive by hosting a family Christmas at Sandringham.
Harry and Meghan have indeed been invited to Christmas, but Katie states that it is her understanding that they will not be joining them. Instead, they will be spending the holidays in California.

Katie discusses Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, and the point of her podcast. She believes that Meghan can share her position with the world in her own words, not what the media is saying about her. You either love her or you hate her.
Katie then shifts the topic of discussion to William and Kate, who at this point have been trying to get some normality back into their lives after the queen’s death. The family moved to Windsor after the summer, and the queen died on the day the children began attending their new school.
With their grandmother’s death, William and Kate are trying to get the kids into a good school routine and enjoy their time as a family before the holiday festivities begin.
