What was supposed to be a normal flight from Madrid to New York turned into something unexpected when a man insulted Denise because of her dark skin. The incident grew tense and soon involved other passengers, but neither Denise nor the man realized who was quietly sitting right behind them.
Before all this happened, Denise and her daughter Fiona had gone through airport security together. They stood side by side, holding their tickets, while their bags went through the scanner. Once cleared, they joined the line of travelers heading toward the plane. They had just arrived in Madrid from Nigeria and were now ready to board their connecting flight to New York. Denise felt relieved that the long journey was halfway over. Returning to Nigeria had been an emotional experience for both her and Fiona, and now they were looking forward to getting back home.
