“This was how Ivory Coast descended into crisis”
Supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) are all out Reno Omokri, the former presidential aide.
Obi’s supporters are aggressively campaigning for a Twitter ban on Omokri who has taken it a duty to invalidate many of the claims of their candidate.
The petition to ban Omokri has reached 30,480 of a targetted 35,000 signatures.
Omoyele Sowore, the activist and presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress (AAC) has , however waded into the issue warning that “it is matter of time before this gets physical and Mr Omokri gets hurt”.
Sowore’s intervention posted on his social media page reads…
There is a petition circulating on Change.org against Nigerian social media personality Reno Omokri, this petition asking @twitter to ban Mr. Omokri are largely signed by Mr. Peter Obi supporters.
I condemn this digital resort to mob justice by those behind this particular petition.
It is matter of time before this gets physical and Mr. Omokri gets hurt. This was how Ivory Coast descended into crisis during Mr. Laurent Gbagbo’s re-election in 2010. The rest is now history. I denounce the petition for targeting Reno Omokri over exercise of free speech.
I urge those behind the petition to take it sown as it posses direct threat to @Reno Omokri’s, that of his family and his freedom of speech! #WeCantContinueLikeThis

Nothing will get serious.
Let Reno and Deji do their PDP job and leave LP alone.
It seems that is the only content they have. If PDP feels they goofed by allowing OBI leave, they should own up and push forward
PO is the real deal. He’s our hope for a better Nigeria. But Free Speech is fundamental and indispensable for a new Nigeria. No gagging please!
