Ashlie Fowler, a first-time mom, found out early in her pregnancy that her baby had a rare condition where some of his organs were growing outside his body. Even though this was very shocking at first, she quickly fell in love with her little boy.
At just 12 weeks pregnant, 29-year-old Ashlie was told by doctors that her baby had gastroschisis. This condition happens when the baby’s belly doesn’t fully form, so organs like the bowel can end up outside the body.
