Hundreds of thousands of supporters in Port Harcourt on Saturday, trooped out for a solidarity rally for the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The supporters, who took off from the popular oil mill area of the state and seen carrying banners, placards and chanting “We are the structure,” “We no dey give shishi,” among others moved en masse amid the downpour.
Present at the rally include Nollywood veteran, Hilda Dokubo, who is the party’s candidate for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency seat in Rivers.
Obi, who had resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and clinced the presidential ticket of the Labour Party, has received massive support from citizens, as rallies have been held in his honour across states in Nigeria.
Supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate have also staged Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) sensitization campaigns across states and social media, on the need for citizens to exercise their civil rights ahead of the general elections in 2023.
