Former President Donald Trump expressed anger towards Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday after she presented a series of polls on her show indicating that he performed worse than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis against President Joe Biden in several states.
During a segment of The Ingraham Angle, Ingraham shared the polls, which showed Trump trailing behind Biden in Georgia and Arizona. Chris Bedford, the Executive Editor of Common Sense Society, joined the discussion and highlighted Trump’s consistent lag in polls against Biden, whereas generic Republicans or figures like Tim Scott or Ron DeSantis tended to fare better.
In response to one poll showing DeSantis with 47 percent support versus Biden’s 43 percent in Arizona, Ingraham acknowledged it as a single poll with a sample size of 500 Arizona voters.
Trump swiftly took to Truth Social, his social media platform, and accused Ingraham of conducting a targeted attack against him, referring to it as a “hit piece.” He questioned Ingraham’s ratings and claimed that other polls on Fox News demonstrated his superior performance against Biden. Trump concluded his post by suggesting his followers watch Greg Kelly on Newsmax at the same time slot as Ingraham’s show.
Although DeSantis, who currently ranks as the second-most popular Republican in most polls, has not officially entered the 2024 Republican primary, it is expected that he will announce his presidential campaign in the coming week.
Last week, Trump criticized Fox News for heavily promoting DeSantis, referring to the network as the “DeSanctimonious Network.” He further criticized other media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post, suggesting they were aligned with globalist interests and no longer reliable sources of information.
