Nigerian content creator, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has revealed that he was given N10 million to shoot the video for Machala.
He made this known during an Instagram live session while replying people criticising him over the way he declares love for Wiz.
Carter Efe said people often mock him by suggesting that Wizkid would never notice him or offer any type of help.
He went on to state that the critics have no idea how Starboy has changed his life which is why they are talking the way they do.
The singer, however did not disclose the identity of the person who gave him the N10 to Machala video shoot.
Efe said; ”For my music video, one person supported me with about Ten million Naira. I am not capping. After you’ll be saying ‘Wizkid no dey support.’”

Earlier this month, he achieved a historic feat with Machala which is a tribute song to his icon, Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun. The single featuring Berri Tiga debuted on the US Billboard Afrobeats Charts.
Efe, who recently announced a switch from comedy to music, reacted to the achievement via his Twitter page with a screenshot of the Billboard Chart.
He released Machala on the 29th of July, and it debuted at the 14th position of 50 on the afrobeat charts, alongside songs by top stars like Burna Boy, Davido, Rema and his idol Wizkid.
Berri Tiga also took to his social media page to share his excitement while thanking fans for the support.
Billboard, in partnership with Afro Nation, launched the first-ever United States chart for Afrobeats music in March 2022.
Despite the massive rave and positive reviews the song has been getting , Wizkid has not responded officially to his tribute song.
