One of the popularly known “OBIdients” John Chinweolu aka Obi Flag Boy has narrated how hoodlums attacked him and his cameraman and nearly burnt to death in Lagos.
John Chinweolu went to Oshodi with his cameraman (and friend) for their regular flag awareness and when called by 5 men, he ran for safety.
John while narrating the brutality said he suffered at the hands of thugs along with a number of park officials in Oshodi.
He narrated that his cameraman was apprehended and petrol already poured on him and someone refused to bring lighter and that saved him from being set ablaze.
They were asked what state they were from and when they informed them, they were beaten more abs asked why they left their State to disturb Lagos State.
While being held captive by the hoodlums, a military officer who had seen them when they were first attacked trailed them and despite his appeal was ignored.
ObiFlagBoy also recalled that his flag pole was seized and used to beat him and got several punches and beatings.
They were later released and after being tortured where they visited two hospitals who rejected them because the hospitals had no scanners and were treated at the third hospital.
