Following the trending misconstruction of his reaction to PDP Governorship aspirant, Sen. Ademola Adeleke’s visit to his palace on Tuesday, July 5th, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, the Ataoja of Osogbo has reiterated that the people should vote for the candidate of their choice, without any act of violence.

In a press statement signed on Wednesday, his Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji noted that he is not imposing any party on the people of Osogbo, stating his concern for tranquillity among all the political parties.

“It has come to my attention that some sections of my domain in Osogboland have deliberately misinterpreted and misconstrued my statement during the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Jackson Adeleke’s visit to my Palace in Osogbo yesterday,” he said.

The Ataoja, in his statement, noted: “My assertion that nobody should do anything to disturb the peace of Osogbo land is not to show support for PDP against other political parties with my position, but to avoid violence in the town.”

“I want to state that more political parties will still pay a visit to my royal palace ahead of the July 16th Gubernatorial Election and I will not condone any act of violence from any political party against one another.”

However, Ataoja appreciated the government of Oyetola for its good work, commenting on the governor’s attitude towards maintaining peace.

“I want to thank Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola for being a lover of peace and I pledge my unalloyed loyalty to him and his government.”

In conclusion, he then urged the people to go out and vote for the candidate of their choice without allowing anyone to place a price tag on their vote.

He said, “I appeal to the sons and daughters of Osogbo to go out en mass peacefully on the 16t of July to vote for the candidate of their choice without any act of violence. Your vote will count and don’t let any political party place a price tag on you.”
