    Nigerians set up business for man wrongfully jailed for 12 years

    A Nigerian man known as Abdul Afeez Jubril has regained his freedom after he was wrongly imprisoned for 12 years.

    His pitiable story was shared on social media and it moved many people to sympathise with him to the extent that they offered financial assistance.



    Facebook user, Alfulanny Sebilu Nnajat revealed that Abdul was sentenced to 12 years in prison over a “mistaken robbery case”.


    Despite being in jail for a crime he did not commit, the man decided to make the best of his situation and learned how to launder clothes.

    That skill became a helpful tool for Abdul after being released from the correctional facility, especially as Kind Nigerians who heard his story and donated money for him to start a laundry business.



    Alfulnanny, who thanked well meaning people for their support, however pleaded for more help for Abdul to get roof over his head and rented shop

    The post reads; “Thank you all for empowering ABDULAFEEZ JUBRIL to startup a laundering business that he learned in the correctional Center (prison), where he spent 12 years on a mistaken robbery case.

    Please, he still needs our help to rent a shop and a living apartment. As you do may Almighty Allah replenish your pockets in manifolds. Ameen.”

    In other news, a Nigerian student identified as Smart Godwin Micah, is set to travel abroad after securing a scholarship, and it is courtesy of his countrymen.




    The young man gained admission to pursue his MSc in Physics at the North Carolina Central University, Durham, USA but he was unable to travel because he lacked money for flight ticket.

    Micah took to Twitter to cry out for help due to the risk of losing fully-funded scholarship worth more than N16 million.

    He made a passionate appeal in a series of tweets on August 12th, saying that the deadline for him was August 18, 2022.

    His story went viral and well-meaning Nigerians began to donate to ensure he does not miss the golden opportunity.

    They were able to raise a total of N1.3 million. (One Million Three Hundred Thousand Naira).
